I love the message of hope you are sending. Very important to focus on the fact that 70 million people voted for a Black woman for president. And she is currently vice president!

Our country is far from perfect but there are a lot of good people and we are making progress. It is disappointing that we just elected Trump, and I am sure there will be setbacks in the future. But I still believe our country will continue to improve if we keep working for a brighter future.

I vividly remember talking with your dad on the phone for a very long time as I stood in disbelief and despair watching the results in 2016. His voice was just as you described and carried me through that night and beyond. I still hear his counsel now and am trying hard to have faith.
